Instead, you’ll unlock the rules as you play.
Ready? ¡Vamos! 🇪🇸
🎮 LEVEL 1 — Meet Your
Spanish Verb Squad
Let’s start with a quick vocabulary challenge.
Here are today’s verbs:
🍕 comer — to eat
🥤 beber — to drink
🧠 saber — to know
👀 ver — to see /
watch
🏃 correr — to run
📖 leer — to read
💕 querer — to want
/ love
💪 deber — should /
must
💰 vender — to sell
📝 aprender — to
learn
📚 comprender — to
understand
✏️ responder — to answer
Don’t try to memorize all twelve yet.
Just notice something.
What do comer, beber, correr, vender, aprender, and responder
have in common?
🔎 They end in -ER.
And that’s today’s secret door into Spanish grammar.
🧩 LEVEL 2 — Crack the -ER
Code
Many regular Spanish -ER verbs follow the same
pattern in the present tense.
You don’t need to memorize every verb separately.
Here’s your secret code:
🔐 O → ES → E → EMOS → ÉIS
→ EN
There are six forms to remember.
Yo → -o
Tú → -es
Él / Ella / Usted → -e
Nosotros /
Nosotras → -emos
Vosotros /
Vosotras → -éis
Ellos / Ellas / Ustedes → -en
One important detail:
🇪🇸 Vosotros /
Vosotras = “you all”
This form is especially common in Spain.
In much of Latin America, ustedes is generally used
for “you all.”
So don’t be surprised when you see both.
🍕 LEVEL 3 — Unlock COMER
Let’s test the code with our first
regular verb.
COMER = to eat
Remove -ER:
COM-
Now add the endings.
Yo: como
Tú: comes
Él / Ella / Usted: come
Nosotros: comemos
Vosotros: coméis
Ellos / Ellas /
Ustedes: comen
Look at the pattern:
como → comes → come
comemos → coméis → comen
First verb unlocked! 🔓
🎯 LEVEL 4 — Quick Challenge
Question 1
Yo ______ pizza. 🍕
A) comes
B) como
C) comen
Think about the subject.
…
✅ Answer: B — como
Yo como pizza.
Now let’s make it slightly harder.
Question 2
Vosotros ______
pizza.
A) comen
B) coméis
C) comes
…
✅ Answer: B — coméis
Vosotros coméis pizza.
Remember:
Vosotros = you all
And with a regular -ER verb, the ending
is:
-éis
🥤 LEVEL 5 — Same Code, New Verb
Now try:
BEBER = to drink
You already know the code.
bebo • bebes • bebe
bebemos • bebéis • beben
No need to memorize another giant chart.
Just follow the pattern.
Question 3
Nosotros ______ agua.
A) beben
B) bebemos
C) bebes
✅ Answer: B — bebemos
Nosotros bebemos agua.
Now try vosotros.
Question 4
Vosotros ______ café.
A) bebéis
B) beben
C) bebes
✅ Answer: A — bebéis
Vosotros bebéis café.
You’re getting the idea.
⚡ LEVEL 6 — Speed Match
Let’s add more vocabulary.
Which verb means “to learn”?
A) vender
B) aprender
C) responder
✅ B — aprender
Which means “to sell”?
A) vender
B) beber
C) querer
✅ A — vender
Which means “to answer”?
A) comprender
B) responder
C) correr
✅ B — responder
Which means “to want”?
A) querer
B) deber
C) leer
✅ A — querer
You’ve just added four more useful
Spanish verbs.
No giant vocabulary list required.
🧠 LEVEL 7 — Find the Subject
Here’s your shortcut:
Find the subject first. 🎯
Then choose the ending.
For example:
Yo + aprender
→ aprendo
Tú + aprender
→ aprendes
Nosotros + aprender
→ aprendemos
Vosotros + aprender
→ aprendéis
The subject is your clue.
Once you understand the pattern, you
don’t need to memorize every regular verb as six completely separate words.
🏃 LEVEL 8 — Three Verbs, One
Pattern
Let’s try three more regular verbs.
CORRER — to run
corro • corres • corre
corremos • corréis • corren
VENDER — to sell
vendo • vendes •
vende
vendemos • vendéis
• venden
APRENDER — to learn
aprendo • aprendes • aprende
aprendemos • aprendéis • aprenden
Notice what’s staying the same?
The verb stem changes.
The regular endings follow the same
pattern:
-o → -es → -e → -emos → -éis → -en
You’ve found the system.
👀 LEVEL 9 — Boss Verb: VER
Now things get interesting.
VER = to see / watch
You might expect:
❌ Yo vero
But Spanish says:
✅ Yo veo
The common present forms are:
veo • ves • ve
vemos • veis • ven
For example:
Yo veo una película.
I watch a movie.
🎮 Boss Question
Which sentence is correct?
A) Yo vero la televisión.
B) Yo veo la televisión.
C) Yo ven la televisión.
✅ Answer: B — Yo veo la televisión.
Ver is a very common verb, so it’s worth
learning its forms individually.
🧠 LEVEL 10 — The Sneaky Verb:
SABER
SABER = to know
Here’s another form to remember:
Yo sé
Not:
❌ Yo sabo
The common forms are:
sé • sabes • sabe
sabemos • sabéis •
saben
For example:
Yo sé la respuesta.
I know the answer.
And:
¿Sabéis la respuesta?
Do you all know the answer?
There’s your vosotros form again:
sabéis = you all know
💕 LEVEL 11 — Meet QUERER
Here’s another very useful verb:
QUERER = to want / to love
This one is important because it doesn’t
follow the regular -ER pattern.
Its common present forms are:
quiero • quieres •
quiere
queremos • queréis
• quieren
For example:
Yo quiero agua.
I want water.
And:
Vosotros queréis café.
You all want coffee.
So here’s an important Spanish lesson:
Not every verb ending in -ER is regular.
The regular pattern is your starting
point.
Then you’ll gradually learn the common
verbs that have special forms.
📖 LEVEL 12 — One More Quick
Challenge
Let’s test some verbs you’ve already
seen.
“I read every day.”
A) Yo leo todos los días.
B) Yo leen todos los días.
C) Yo lees todos los días.
✅ A — Yo leo todos los días.
“She wants coffee.”
A) Ella quieren café.
B) Ella quiere
café.
C) Ella quiero
café.
✅ B — Ella quiere café.
“We should study.”
A) Nosotros debemos estudiar.
B) Nosotros deben
estudiar.
C) Nosotros debo
estudiar.
✅ A — Nosotros debemos estudiar.
“You all answer the question.”
A) Vosotros
responden la pregunta.
B) Vosotros
respondéis la pregunta.
C) Vosotros
responde la pregunta.
✅ B — Vosotros
respondéis la pregunta.
Great!
You just used leer, querer, deber, and
responder in real sentences.
🔥 LEVEL 13 — Don’t Confuse -AR
and -ER!
Spanish has different verb groups.
If you’ve already explored Spanish -AR
verbs, you can compare the two patterns in our related lesson:
👉 Spanish -AR Verbs in thePresent Tense — Regular vs Irregular: Master the Rules in 2 Minutes
For example:

The subject pattern stays familiar, but
the endings are different.
Recognizing the verb group can make
