The first review day is here! 🎉

You’ve spent the first part of the challenge learning basic Spanish phrases, numbers, months, days of the week, jobs, and simple ways to practice.

Today, we’re not adding a big new lesson.

Instead, it’s time to look back, test your memory, and see what you’ve actually learned.

Think of this as your Week 1 Spanish check-in.

🔄 Quick Week 1 Recap

Before the quiz, here’s a super-fast review of what you’ve covered.

👋 Introductions

You learned how to introduce yourself:

Me llamo… → My name is…

Yo tengo … años. → I am … years old.

Soy de… → I am from…

Me gusta… → I like…

You also learned some everyday expressions:

Hola → Hello

¿Cómo estás? → How are you?

Gracias → Thank you

Por favor → Please

Adiós → Goodbye

Don’t overthink these.

The goal is to be able to recognize them and start using them naturally.

🔢 Numbers 1–50

You worked through Spanish numbers from 1 to 50.

A few useful ones to remember:

uno → 1
cinco → 5
diez → 10
quince → 15
veinte → 20
treinta → 30
cuarenta → 40
cincuenta → 50

And you learned an important study habit:

Listen → Repeat → Recall → Repeat again

📅 Months

You learned all 12 months:

enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre.

Remember:

Mi cumpleaños es en mayo.

“My birthday is in May.”

And one small but important writing rule:

Spanish months are normally written in lowercase.

So:

✅ enero
❌ Enero

🗓️ Days of the Week

You also learned:

lunes → Monday
martes → Tuesday
miércoles → Wednesday
jueves → Thursday
viernes → Friday
sábado → Saturday
domingo → Sunday

Two days have accent marks:

miércoles
sábado

And remember:

el lunes → on Monday / a particular Monday

los lunes → on Mondays / every Monday

💼 Jobs & Professions

You also practiced vocabulary for different professions.

Some of the words you encountered were:

enfermero / enfermera → nurse

maestro / maestra → teacher

abogado / abogada → lawyer

bombero / bombera → firefighter

mecánico / mecánica → mechanic

programador / programadora → programmer

contador / contadora → accountant

dentista → dentist

electricista → electrician

periodista → journalist

veterinario / veterinaria → veterinarian

You also noticed something important:

Not every profession follows exactly the same masculine/feminine pattern.

For example:

mecánico → mecánica

but:

dentista → dentista

❤️ What You Learned This Week

This week wasn’t about memorizing hundreds of words.

You learned how to:

👋 Introduce yourself
🔢 Count from 1–50
📅 Name the months
🗓️ Talk about days of the week
💼 Recognize common jobs and professions
🗣️ Build simple Spanish sentences
🧠 Practice recall instead of relying only on recognition

And perhaps most importantly, you practiced using Spanish instead of just reading about Spanish.

That’s the habit we want to keep.

🚀 Ready for the Next Part?

Week 1 is done.

Take a moment to celebrate the progress — then keep going
